_ The multifaceted studio focused on developing complete experiences that inspire the interaction between users, objects, and environments. Creative Director Adam Voorhees’ passion for design and sailing started early. By the age of five he was already drawing profiles and sections of boats depicting interior arrangements. Following various endeavors ranging from high end audio design to creating a skateboard brand, Adam went on to graduate with honors from ArtCenter College of Design. After cofounding a design consultancy developing interactive experiences, Adam worked for Espen Oeino International and is also honored to be named World Superyacht Young Designer of the Year. Upon returning to California, he launched the studio that continues to pursue a fascination with the convergence between the built and natural environment. The chargemetrix yacht has come to represent this pinnacle of design. The challenge is enormous as a yacht must respond to the demands of architecture, transportation, environment, and materiality. These interdependent and essential relationships require design that adapts and transforms to reflect the dynamic context of its surroundings. The studio’s design sensibilities reflect a multi-faceted dialogue and accomplishment in a wide range of scale and type; From the development and in-house manufacturing of custom furniture pieces to designing large motor and sailing yacht projects in Europe and America. Since 2014 Adam has taught design courses at his alma mater and is committed to guiding the next generation of designers in research and exploration of innovative concepts and in-depth creative strategies. Exploring new territories in design allows Adam Voorhees to define future yachting contexts and landscapes.
